Planet Smoothie focuses on creating “the best-tasting smoothies on the planet,” while delivering better nutrition, on average, than our competitors. Our smoothies tend to have far fewer calories and less sugar than comparable items offered by other smoothie brands, and as Americans become more health-conscious, those differences are driving more customers to our stores. Once people actually taste our smoothies, they come back for more.
Planet Smoothie is led by a team of veteran franchise executives who have helped build other iconic brands, including Mail Boxes Etc., and leverages more than 100 years of combined franchising experience to provide outstanding support to franchisees.
North Texas Area Developer Blair Ritchey got a foothold in the Dallas smoothie franchise when he bought his first Planet Smoothie in McKinney, Texas, in 2012. Blair brings decades of leadership and entrepreneurial experience to Planet Smoothie from his vocation as a Wesleyan minister, when he oversaw and planted churches throughout the Dallas area. Now as Planet Smoothie’s area developer for North Texas, Blair would like to attract 20 Dallas smoothie franchise commitments over the next three years.
“It’s a great brand and a great product,” Blair says. “It’s led by a really effective team, and you can make some money, as well. You can have a store that captures a healthy share of the market. That’s an important component of the business. The stores can be structured and positioned to do well and be profitable centers.”
Blair says there are many vibrant, healthy communities in the Dallas area with big populations of health-conscious people with discretionary income.

The Star-Telegram in Fort Worth reported that the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington area ranked sixth economically in the nation at $440.1 billion. Its economy is expected to reach $464.7 billion by 2015 and $491.4 billion by 2016. The increased economic muscle is due in part to growing populations in the Dallas area with a booming real estate market.
