Ability to learn and follow a proven system

Franchise owners need to have ambition and the willingness to learn our procedures. Training includes five days of classroom instruction at our headquarters and five days of in-store, hands-on learning.

We provide Planet Smoothie owners an overview of the business and franchise industry: details on center operations, insights into providing exceptional customer service, details about the products that go into our smoothies and distribution, instruction in how to use the Planet Smoothie point-of-sale system and internal communications portal, financial management instruction, store-opening procedures, food-product handling, sanitation procedures, back-office administration, equipment operation, storage and store management.

Our team of veteran franchise executives provides ongoing coaching to help franchisees master and refine the operations of a Planet Smoothie store.

Passion for helping people live a healthy lifestyle

Every day, thousands of people choose Planet Smoothie because of our reputation for providing customers with a quality product.

About 42 percent of our loyal fans — who range from health enthusiasts, business people, parents, teens to children — visit their local store at least once a week. Patrons are attracted to our diverse menu, which includes 40 regular items made with a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, natural sweeteners and real ingredients such as cocoa powder instead of chocolate syrup.

Planet Smoothie cares about people’s health, so we updated some of our classic smoothie recipes to lower the sugar content, reduce calories and boost vitamins and antioxidants. We use a sweetener that combines agave nectar and stevia. We created Greek yogurt smoothies with more protein. We added more veggies to the menu for customers to add to their smoothies, and we offer vitamin and fiber supplements that can be added to smoothies.

“When you are serving smoothies, your customers are coming in for a treat that is healthy, and they are in a good mood,” says Planet Smoothie franchisee Karen Hendrix of Suwanee, Georgia. “You get to know your customers, and you just feel like you are making people’s lives a little bit better. It’s hard to be in a bad mood when you are around smiling people and you’re helping them do good for themselves!”

At Planet Smoothie, we want our franchisees to exude enthusiasm about our products. This type of passion can be seen and felt at stores, where our franchisees’ team members give smoothie recommendations to customers and chat with them about their workouts and food preferences.

Desire to form relationships in their communities

Planet Smoothie encourages franchisees to get out in their communities and form relationships and partnerships with schools, gyms, health and charitable organizations. Franchisees who are friendly and willing to network do important work spreading the word about our brand.

Kristin Scott and Karen run the Suwanee, Georgia, Planet Smoothie. Both are committed to working with schools — giving away certificates for free smoothies, sponsoring school teams by providing smoothies for banquets, and giving discounts to teams who come in after practice.

Kristin says that their franchise has grown consistently since its opening.

“We stay really involved in all of the schools in the community — we get to know families, and we take smoothies to schools for kids to try,” Kristin says. “When you have kids who taste smoothies for the first time, they go home and tell their parents about us, and they wind up coming back to the store with whole family. Once they try our smoothies, we become the place people want to come.”
